First Entry.

Welcome food enthusiasts!

If you're thinking, "Aww, not another food review cum camwhoring blog...!", then I think that it's a tad too early to judge. Keep on reading my posts and maybe that'll change your mind :) I'll try my very best to bring about new places to eat for all you people who are looking for something new to try. I'll make it as interesting as I can, filling every detail of how the food tastes like, and promise not to turn this into another blog featuring pictures of myself and my friends.

The first place I'll be featuring is Marche @ The Curve. It's pronounced as "Mar-shay" but I guess you avid eaters already know that.

N and I, at the exit door of Marche, 5/11/2009
But did you know that the restaurant originated from Zurich, Switzerland and not France? All along I thought it was a French-inspired eatery. N and I were actually discussing it over dinner. But I checked Marche's official website, and it states that it is indeed from Switzerland. Checkout their website if you wanna learn more of their origin (it's interesting to know how they come about with the concept, but I'm not gonna bore you with all the deets.)
What makes this restaurant special (or not! depending on how you look at it) is that you'll be given a "passport" where you'll use it to order your food at the respective counters in the middle of the restaurant. There are counters for beverages, desserts, salad bars and main courses. You're spoilt for choices, especially when it comes to drinks. Once you've ordered your desired food and drinks, just pick a spot to dine (you can opt for the other way around too :)).

The inside of Marche is exactly like a marketplace, hence the name. But to me, it's more of an upscale-y marketplace. It's clean, spacious and has a rather relaxing atmosphere that makes you wanna stay there for hours at end.

Marche was newly renovated recently and the interior has changed quite a lot. I think that the renovation's given Marche a fresher and more classy feeling. You can choose to sit at the front side of the restaurant..

Or at the back side (no pun intended!) of Marche if you want more privacy..

Or if you've got a party of 10, you can choose to sit here..

Like what you're seeing? Told ya', it has a homey feeling to it. And the waiters and waitresses are friendly and helpful too! (Oh, except for the guy who was manning the meat counter).

Oh, and there's also an in-house washroom. Bonus points for Marche!

Once decided where to sit, just turn the sign to "Occupied" :)

N and I started off with this Yummy Bread Butter Pudding, topped with creamy milky sauce and some nuts on top. I've always been a fan of this pudding, but this one's definitely top 5 on my list. Its creamy sauce isn't too sweet and the bread's soft and moist. The taste is just nice for my Malaysian tongue :) nothing too strong.

N ordered this mixed salad of olives, pasta salad, broccoli, tomatoes and celery. It's the medium portion, which can actually be finished by 2 persons. I'm not a huge fan of mixed salad, but I did try it. Ratings? Out of 10, I'd give it a 6. It has a tinge of spiciness to it which I liked.

How yummy is this? I ordered a Rib Eye Steak with homemade mashed potatoes on the side. Wanted to order the Norweigian Salmon Steak, but N ordered it, so I took a chance on this juicy looking red meat. Oh, such a tasteful sin! First bite into it and I knew I wanted to finish it. It's cooked medium rare topped with black pepper sauce. There's also mushroom sauce if you want something more subtle to finish of the steak. The meat's tender, yet it doesn't have any overbearing taste which makes you wanna gag after eating it. Highly recommended to loyal meat lovers!

N ordered the Norweigian Salmon Steak. And haha, I forgot to taste it! But by looking at how satisfied N looked after finishing it, I'd say, "two thumbs up!" Babe, if you're reading this, please comment :)

Out of all the drinks, I was feeling for the Apple Tea, which both N and I ordered. There was also Strawberry Soda, Calamansi Juice and Diet Coke (heheh) to name a few. Too many to choose from! Rambang mata ;)

For dessert, N ordered cheese cake for us to share. Even though we were both full, this cake is too yummy to resist. The taste of the cheese is different from other cheese cakes I've tasted before. It tastes fresh too. There were too many desserts to choose from, namely Chocolate Mousse and Apple Crumble. Gotta save the stomache for my next trip here!

I looked like a happy kid in a candy store :) I'm always up for good food and great company. Too bad L and A couldn't join us that night. Besides stuffing ourselves with quality food, N and I caught up on our current life events and dished about the usual. Good times, good times.

And here's N, whom I've known for about 5 years now. He looked like a happy kid too ;)

Here are the faces of two VERY satisfied customers of Marche. Marche is close to my heart because I celebrated my 21st birthday here, along with N, L, A and J. So if you're reading this, head on over to Marche and grab a bite with your loved ones. Not only will you get to fill your stomaches with yummy + delicious food, but you'll also be able to catch up and goss with everyone. If I've got 3 hands, I'd give it a three thumbs up!

Oh, but don't forget to pay on your way out!

I know this blog looks a bit amateurish, but I'm working on that. I hope you'll keep on reading my upcoming entries on more new and fabulous places to eat. If you have a place to recommend and would like me to rave (or diss) about it, just email me. Later peeps!
